Artist Bio

“I’m Jane, a 20-year-old visual artist from Hamilton. My work is gently inspired by the everyday life around us and the natural human desire. I seek to capture moments that teeter on familiarity and something totally out of whack. Using my photos to portray the unposed, yet cohesive nature of life through my eyes, I invite you to connect with the attitude or story however it may come. With each piece, I aim to create a space where the viewer can pause and reflect on the beauty of fleeting moments that shape our youth. I want to reconnect art with joy, if you look too hard for meaning you lose it all.”

With each photo I want you to be able to put yourself into these nights! From the familiar venues, to the familiar faces in those venues. A night can be like a spiritual awakening. You’ll wake up the next morning with at least one new revelation and a timeline you can’t quite piece together. Sometimes you forget how big a small city can be. Dancing off the day before, being as close as ever to your favorite people and probably your least favorite too. I lived the nights these pictures were taken but I hope you can feel the energy through these vessels. If you’re not having fun you should go out this weekend.
